The tiny village of Trundle, nestled in the heart of NSW within the Parkes Shire along the Bogan Way, is preparing to transform into a glittering disco paradise on Saturday, 2 May 2026, as the Trundle ABBA Festival returns to the region’s most iconic strip – Forbes Street, proudly known as the widest main street in NSW.

What may be a journey for some is, according to organisers, “worth every single kilometre.”

Headlining the 2026 festival is international ABBA tribute sensation ABBASBACK, returning bigger than ever with a full orchestra and choir. They’ll be joined by Orange favourites Handpicked, Central West’s newest cover band Dirty Dark Horses, and local rising stars Easy Goin’, ensuring the dancefloor energy lasts all day and into the night.

Festivalgoers can expect more than just music. Plans include:

• A World Record Dance Attempt on the main street to Dancing Queen and Waterloo

• ABBA-themed vow renewals led by Parkes’ musical minister Rev Craig Bland, complete with choir

• A live singing competition grand final on the main stage

• Fashions of the Festival parade with prizes for best dressed

• An exclusive sneak peek of Parkes M&D’s upcoming production of Sister Act

• A vibrant mix of food vendors, drinks and sweet treats

Organisers are encouraging attendees to start planning their outfits now – think flares, sequins, platform boots and all things sparkle – in readiness for the spectacular fashion parade along the centre of the main street.

The festival is proudly family-friendly, with under 18s admitted free. Pre-purchased adult tickets are $65, with gate tickets at $80.

Dust off the flares — Trundle is ready to dance.
